Four years later...

Nearly four years ago, I met Maria and her sister-in-law Y. They were students in my ESL class and I loved their personalities and zeal to learn. I felt blessed to be invited into their lives going to a birthday party and visiting them in their homes on several occasions. On one occasion, I helped them navigate a tense situation when one of their husband's was arrested in Central Kansas and accompanied them to the jail. They were extremely grateful! None of this led to them investigating our home bible study or the Mission Adelante church.

It would have been so easy to give up on our investment, but thank God that we kept in contact even when they finished taking English classes. It was a blessing to know that their kids continued to be a part of our Kid's Adelante outreach bible study. Still our staff wondered if they would ever take the leap of faith needed for their own lives. This past month they surprised us and opened their hearts to Jesus at our parenting conference held at the building. Wow! Well worth the wait! The story is still in the making, but what a great way to see our ministry touch them from all sides. Lord, thanks for letting me be a part of this!
